Battlestar Galactica
A bunch of people (like 50 000) remain alive on a space fleet after the Cylons attacked and destroyed the 12 human colonies thanks to Baltar who gave military access to a blonde chick which later we find out that is one of the six human models of Cylons. In the end humans and a part of the Cylons agree on a truce, magically find a new planet lived by some prehistoric humans and send all their ships into the Sun because they want to start a new future.
