The Shawshank Redemption is the number one movie in the IMDB top 250 movies. It's starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins and the action takes place since the '40s when a bank's vicepresident is convicted for the murder of his wife and her lover. Later he finds out that he's innocent and the only witness to prove it wich ended in the same prison is killed. That's the moment when the innocent convict makes his escape and later he reunites with his old pal from the jail (Morgan Freeman) in Mexico.
